The Latchis Theatre was almost sold out as 400 folks came to see Camilla Rockwell’s movie featuring Deirdre Scherer’s fabric artwork of the elderly and dying, and Kathy Leo’s Hallowell singers (music directors Peter and Amidon and Mary Cay Brass) who sing for healing and hospice.

New England Dancing Masters colleague Andy Davis joined Mary Alice and Peter in leading a workshop in teaching traditional dance as the final event of this three-day conference for Massachusetts music teachers.

Peter called contra dances and a family dance, and Peter and Mary Alice led a Sacred Harp sing and a gospel sing at this annual festival of traditional dance and song that draws about 4,000 participants in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY.
New England Youth Theatre - The Blind King
Feb/March 2007
Peter Amidon, Stephen Stearns and thirty-three 10-14 year olds presented the fourth original full length Stearns/Amidon’s musical at New England Youth Theatre. Stearns wrote the script and Amidon composed the lyrics and music. This year they did a revival, with a lot of new characters, script and music, of their 2004 musical ‘The Blind King and the Sleeping Queen’.

Washington DC Revels

Peter and Mary Alice were tradition bearing headliners at the 8 performances of Washington DC’s American Revels in the 1,200 seat Lisner auditorium. The Amidons performed duo singing performances, told stories, played in the Revels string band, called dancing, and led the Revels chorus in a couple of dramatic American Sacred Harp shape note songs, the chorus surrounding the audience and Peter directing from the middle.
